Lemonwood pegging is a hallmark of true master bootmaking. Unlike metal nails which can rust, corrode, and tear leather over time, lemonwood pegs swell and contract at the exact same hygroscopic rate as genuine leather when exposed to sweat or rain, locking the boot's steel shank and arch permanently in place.
Exotic reptile skins have natural scale membranes that must breathe. Use a specialized reptile cleaner and conditioner formulated specifically for glazed skins. Avoid heavy mink oil or petroleum-based pastes that cause scale edges to lift. Store your boots with cedar boot trees to maintain vamp shape.
Yes. All our handcrafted Western, exotic, and heavy work boots feature genuine 3/4 Goodyear welt construction and channeled outsoles. A qualified cobbler can resole them multiple times, giving you decades of dependable wear.
SIZING & FIT GUIDE
A proper Western boot should fit snug across the instep (the top arch of your foot) like a firm handshake. There should be comfortable room for your toes to lie flat without pinching. When you take your first steps, expect 1/4 to 1/2 inch of heel slippage—this is essential to allow the stiff new sole to flex and break in.
"D" is standard men's width. "EE" provides additional volume across the ball of the foot and higher instep clearance. If your athletic shoes feel tight across the sides or you have high arches, we recommend selecting EE.

To be eligible for size exchange or return, boots must be tried on indoors on clean carpeted surfaces. Outsoles with scuffs, scratches, or outdoor wear cannot be accepted for return as they cannot be resold as new inventory.
